We are getting ready for our competitions. We need several people helping to ensure show days run smooth. We need 2 adults to tow the trailers (¾ or 1 ton tow capacity required to pull). When we are at a show for a long period, we will need help feeding the kids. Please let me know if you would like to serve as a coordinator for these items. SignUp Genius forms will be sent today for Weber St Review.
Show days are amazing, fun, inspiring...and a little hectic. Here is what to expect for show days.
Student call time at Fremont
MINI rehearsal (this is very important, 1 hour)
Drive to show site
Warmup (this time is assigned and is 65 minutes before performance time)
Move to gate
Vacate field, move to trailer
Watch other bands
Return to Fremont
All shows other than Weber State will also include a meal and an awards ceremony. We are the final awards ceremony of the events, so this will be after 10 pm for every show.
• DIRECTOR’S NOTE:
My family and I have finally moved up and are getting settled in. My commute is so much better. My family is excited to have purchased our first home. We are also fast approaching my favorite season. The beautiful colors, the cooling temperatures, the pies...and of course marching band season. The band has been working hard to prepare for performances and competitions. We are getting to the rewarding part, the payoff for all of the work. Our performances are very special events, please be present at as many as possible. It is amazing how much it means to our students to have an audience that is full of people that are there just for them. It lights a fire within them and inspires them.
Thank you so much for the support and help.
