Jacob Bradshaw - Director of Bands

Mr. Bradshaw studied Percussion Performance, Music Composition, Music Education and Conducting. He received his B.S. in Music Education from Utah Valley University and Masters in Instrument Music Conducting from Messiah University. Mr. Bradshaw has had an extensive teaching career for the last 20 years. He has taught every grade k-12 and has experience in California, Arizona and Utah. He has composed and arranged for band programs in California, Arizona, Georgia and Utah. Mr. Bradshaw has served as an adjudicator for marching band, concert band and chamber music festivals in Utah, North Dakota and Idaho. 

Mr. Bradshaw’s first performing experience was as a young child playing Tiny Tim in a production of a Christmas Carol. He has performed with the Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps, the Utah Ute Marching Band and the Copper Hills High School Marching Band. He has marched in 20 states and performed in the 2001 US President Inauguration Parade. He has performed with several Jazz combos and big bands (including for the Excellence in the Community Series,) Wind Ensembles (Utah Wind Symphony, Murray Concert Band, Ogden Concert Band, Salt Lake Symphonic Winds, Intercollegiate Ensembles in Reno, NV and Seattle, WA, UofU, UVU), percussion ensembles (UofU, UVU), choirs, mixed ensembles, orchestras (including the Utah Symphony and Orchestra on Temple Square), rock bands, pit orchestras (20+ musical theater performing credits). His first professional gig was for Coca-Cola, drumming on trash cans during the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics. Mr. Bradshaw is currently a performer in a variety of avenues. He freelances as a drummer, plays drums with his band Riding Gravity, he DJ’s for dances and performs as Santa Claus each winter.  
 
Jacob is married to the love of his life, Jackie, and has four beautiful children, Boston (13), Alena(9), Logan(8) and Charlotte (3).

Luke McMillon - Wind Arranger

Luke McMillan is a composer, arranger, and designer for the marching arts. Luke has been writing music professionally since 2005 and has composed and arranged full-time since 2015. Luke’s music is regularly heard at numerous competitive circuits, including BOA, USBands, and multiple local and state-sanctioned events across the country. Luke’s music has been played by several state marching band finalists and medalists around the country and has been described as achievable and fun for the performers, and entertaining and engaging for the audience. 
Before becoming a full-time composer/arranger, Luke was as a band director for 11 years at Wylie High School in Abilene, TX. During his time at Wylie, Luke designed the shows for and co-taught the Wylie “Pure Gold” Marching Band, which advanced to the state marching contest several times playing his music. Luke also directed the Symphonic Band which earned consistent sweepstakes awards, and the Wylie High School Jazz Band, which earned “Best in Class” awards for most jazz festivals they attended. 
Luke is a 2003 graduate of The University of North Texas holding a Bachelor of Music degree. While attending UNT, he played in the marching band, concert band, and nationally recognized jazz lab bands. Luke lives and works in his hometown of Abilene, TX.

Bradley Sampson - Drill Design

Bradley brings a unique combination of skills to marching arts design. He is first and foremost an educator, and always writes with the students in mind. He also has significant experience as a performer and teacher within the brass, percussion, and visual captions, allowing him to design a holistic product that works well for every section and flows from start to finish. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Brigham Young University and a Master's Degree in Horn Performance from the University of Utah. His wonderful wife is a middle school band teacher and they enjoy solving Rubik's cubes when they aren't teaching band together.

Krista Browne - Guard Choreography

​Kirsta Browne is a Choreographer that has been writing work for the last 10 years. She is currently the Color guard caption head at Cedar Valley high school in Eagle Mountain, UT. She works full time for her school working closely with Special Ed as well as the Performing arts department as the Lead Choreographer for the musical theatre dept. She has been involved with Utah Color guard Circuit (UCGC) for nearly 10 years and gone from technician and choreographer to director.
Before coaching Kirsta worked as a Culinary Specialist for a local Utah food chain. She enjoyed her time in the kitchen but eventually hung up her spatula to pick up a rifle full again. She graduated from Davis High school where she was part of many performing arts groups, including  choir, dance, marching band, symphonic band and color guard.

Jessica Slabaugh - Costume and Equipment Design

Jessica Slabaugh is originally from Golden, Colorado, and relocated in 2012 to American Fork, Utah. Jessica was involved in music from a young age, and she played in her own high school marching band and was drum major. She was awarded several awards for her high achievement in music, including the John Philip Sousa Award, recognizing superior musicianship and outstanding dedication.
In college, Jessica performed with several well-known winter guards and Drum Corps. She spent time developing and perfecting her skills with Crossmen Drum Corps, Imbue Winter Guard, Signature Winter Guard, and Alchemy Winter Guard. Jessica was also a performing member of the Oracle Performance Ensemble, a dance company from Denver, Colorado.

In addition to her performance career, Jessica has been involved in several high school programs, including Amador Valley High School (CA), Air Academy (CO), Legacy High School (CO), Eden Prairie (MN), James E. Taylor (TX), Bear Creek High School (CO), Palmview High School (TX), Juarez-Lincoln High School (TX), Victoria West High School (TX), Lone Peak High School (UT) and Loveland High School (CO). Throughout this time, her programs have been awarded several high achievement awards. Including numerous state champion awards, eight BOA Regional Championships, WGI Regional Championships, and appeared in two Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parades. Jessica is the current color guard director and program coordinator for the American Fork High School Marching Band.

 Jessica is a wife and mother of two exceptional children. She loves to spend time with her family camping and exploring new parts of the world.

Lucy Davidson - Guard Advisor

Lucy is no stranger to the Fremont Bands, as her son, Tate, is a member of the Pride Marching Band, Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band. Aside from being a proud band mama, Lucy has been involved in marching bands from an early age.

She has been a performing member of several groups throughout high school and college, both as an instrumentalist and as a guard member. She enjoys working with kids of all ages and is currently the librarian at Silver Ridge Elementary School in Farr West. We are excited to have her on board!

Kenya Grenda - Bass Drum Assistant

​Kenya Grenda is a percussionist, bassist, performer, and educator out of Roy, Utah. Kenya has a variety of performance experience in jazz, orchestra, concert, and marching settings. She started her journey with music at age 7 and studied multiple instruments through high school and continuing in college, playing a wide range including guitar, piano, orchestral bass, electric bass, and multiple percussion instruments. 

Kenya has been very involved in the marching arts scene in both performing and teaching. She started performing at Roy high school marching multiple seasons on bass drum. In her independentcareer she marched Weber State Indoor Percussion 2018, Gold Spike Percussion 2020 and 21, Pacific Crest Drum and Bugle Corps 2021, and Gold Indoor Percussion 2022 performing on bass drum, cymbals, and auxiliary percussion. Kenya has been on Fremonts staff since fall of 2018, and one season at Ogden High as a battery and visual staff member in 2019.

Kenya has also been performing in orchestra, jazz, and concert percussion since junior high, qualifying for the state level competition in all and earning a multitude of awards along the way. She also has experience teaching orchestra, interning for Roy Junior high teaching beginning and advanced orchestra her senior year.

Shannon Lynch - Woodwind Assistant

Shannon Lynch graduated from Fremont High School in 2019 where she was drum major her senior year. She has experience performing on the flute, saxophone, percussion and specializes in the clarinet- which she has been playing for 9 years. She was on staff at Fremont for the 2019 fall season. Following which she completed an 18 month mission for the LDS church. She is a student at Weber State University and continues to play in opportunities that arise.

​Paul Murray - Brass Assistant

Paul is a Fremont Alumni, class of 2019. He marched all throughout his high school career with Fremont in the brass section, and served as an on field drum major as a senior. He has been marching with the battalion drum and bugle corps since 2018, getting ready to march again this season. While he marched mellophone with Fremont and the Battalion, he played his hand in every section of the band. From percussion in indoor drumline, to flute in concert band, and bass guitar in Fremont play productions. Outside of teaching with Fremont he enjoys playing chess, and hopes to one day be Utah's second grandmaster in the sport.
